My experience as Group Digital Director at Oakley Capital, a London based asset management and financial advisory business with over US $1.3 billion of assets under management, saw me work with companies across their investment portfolio.  My experience at Oakley helped me to develop an understanding not only of the needs of investors in terms of optimising current business practice to help improve return on equity, but to also understand the concerns of investee companies regarding change, and helping them to overcome these fears.  My experience with these stakeholders has enabled me to develop a strong skill set and knowledge of how to tread this line so there is growth for both. Operate in Global Markets

Localisation on a global scale that prioritises coherent messaging and a joined up approach to marketing communications is a specialty. I oversaw activity across 58 international markets to gain the buy-in of locally autonomous offices to maximise efficiency and regain control at HQ. I have launched clients on social platforms in China and I have provided best practice models for owners and licensee groups.

Redefine Internal Processes

Receiving investment is a perfect opportunity to review practices and find efficiencies. Often reluctant to break out of silos or challenge status quo, a 3rd party consultant provides a neutral forum for staff to voice concerns.  I conducted an extensive audit for a global publishing business that threw up immediate business risks senior management were not aware of and put in place industry best practice that empowered staff with knowledge.

With investment comes change but not all stakeholders in an investee company are open to this process. My extensive background working across business units within organisations as well as across multiple markets has seen full disclosure and staff empowerment through the change process.

Large business or small start-up, so many companies fall into the trap of thinking and working in silos when getting on with day-to-day tasks.  I help companies make the most of their existing resources, and knowledge by getting them to re-engage with colleagues for more effective working practice. While different business units are focused on their specific remit, I remind them that the core goals need to be focused on product and customer service to drive revenue.
